Roof Parties Were a Thing

Kids that throw house parties these days are constantly worried about the cops coming, and for good reason. But back in the day, kids couldn’t wait for their parents to take a weekend trip so they could open up their house, and their roofs, to hundreds of kids who were ready to get their drink on, never mind that it was illegal. This KnowYourRole96 Reddit user shared that his mom was one of the kids sitting on top of the roof at this 1976 fourth of July party. But we’re absolutely certain he was living vicariously through her because there would be no way she would ever let her kid throw a party in her house, unless she doesn’t mind going to jail.
