When Picture Taking Was A Formal Event

Before cameras were built in to our mobile phones, taking photos used to be a formal event. From deciding on the background, choosing an outfit, and deciding how serious to be, it used to take some major considerations. One such reddit user, TheFlowerCannon retold the tale of how her 17-year old grandfather was born in Italy but migrated to the US in 1910 after being adopted with 10 other kids. And what was even more amazing was that he would receive gorgeous Italian clothes anonymously for quite a number of years after that too. At least he always had something to wear for his yearly photo, right?
