Who Said Car Seats Didn’t Exist in the 50s?

Back in 1958, parents believed that their precious little babies were actually safe riding upfront with them in their early versions of car seats. This little baby was riding beside mommy while strapped into his seat, but the problem was the seat wasn’t strapped into anything! Once again, this is where the infamous “mom arm” would do all the work, shooting out to block the baby from flying off the seat and straight into the windshield. This is a far cry from baby car seats now that not only go in the back, but has baby facing the opposite way too!
