She made history by being the first African-American girl to race the coveted classes of NHRA Top Sportsman & Comp, ADRL Top Sportsman, and is the only woman to race NHRA Top Sportsman D2. She was also the first African-American to race her 4,500 horsepower pro mod and win several Outlaw Pro Mod drag racing events. She again made history in 2013 by partnering with her NASCAR sponsors Royal Purple, Bell Helmets, Pacific Equipment, to drive for NASCAR veteran David Roberts.
