Francesca Aurora Dani @francescadani is an Italian cosplayer, internet model, jewelry designer, and travel photographer. She got started in cosplay by joining the annual convention Lucca Comics and Games in 1998. Though she only participated and cosplayed as Sailor Moon at the request of a friend, she was surprised when she won an award which instantly made her famous locally and kicked off her career in cosplay. Francesca launched a pay website in 2002 that featured several pictures of her in provocative outfits, and on Christmas of the same year, she gained fame in Japan by appearing in their popular television program Sekai Marumie. She was chosen to be interviewed in her hometown because of her growing reputation as a professional cosplayer. She gained global fame in 2005 when she won the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan. From there, she landed on the pages of several magazines around the world and was named the most popular cosplayer on the web. Francesca went on to participate in international cosplays and had the pleasure of presenting the manga, Death Note. Though she has retired from cosplaying, many are inspired by the passion, commitment, and hard work Francesca Dani demonstrated during her extensive cosplay career.
