The Alabama-native, Katie George @katiecosplays, started her career in cosplay in 2004. She has appeared in many local and international conventions, such as the fan convention MomoCon, the four-day Japanese expo Anime Matsuri, and the multi-genre gathering Pensacon. She represented the United States at the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan in 2012 and competed in the 2014 Heroes of Cosplay. Aside from participating in expos, Katie has also served as host, panelist, and judge in costume contests. She discovered cosplay when she was 12. She was a huge Sailor Moon fan, and she begged her mother to drive her six hours to Atlanta to attend her very first convention, Anime Weekend Atlanta. Statuesque at 5’10, Katie picked the playful and leggy Haruko Haruhara from FLCL as her first cosplay, and she’s went on the portray other beautiful characters, such as Sailor Jupiter, Sleeping Beauty, Wonder Woman, Black Cat, and Archer’s Lana Kane.
