Never Expect Everyone To Speak English

While most Catalans speak Spanish, never expect that everyone will know how to speak English. Of course many will understand a few phrases here and there, many of them won’t be very willing to harass themselves just so they can understand what you are trying to say, or ask, for that matter. Do yourself a favor and learn a few phrases in Catalan so that you can at least find your way around. Better yet, whip out your Google translate or any other app that will help them better understand you without getting too frustrated by such a big language barrier.
