Paula Abdul began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers when she was just 18 years old. After becoming the head choreographer, she was discovered by Janet Jackson and asked to choreograph a number of her videos and quickly catapulted to fame. Soon after, she was making her very first album entitled Forever Young Girl that had a bunch of hits like “Opposites Attract,” “Straight Up” and “Cold Hearted.” By the time her music career slowed down, she was asked to become a judge on a few reality TV shows like American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and The X-Factor. Despite dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, Abdul has managed to clean up her act and continues to perform until today.
