Belinda Carlisle was the front woman of hit 80s band the Go-Go Girls, which also happened to be one of the most popular ones too. And when the group ended up breaking up, Carlisle’s career didn’t end with it. She had even more success as a solo artist with songs like “Leave A Light On,” “Mad About You,” and “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” which managed to win her a Grammy award. But with early success also came a 3-decade heavy cocaine addiction which she thankfully kicked so that she could continue to pursue her career in music and fight for the rights of the LGBTQ community, more so since her own son came out when he was 17.
