Fruit flies like to breed inside drains, where bits of rotting fruits and vegetables linger. Pour boiling vinegar to kill any eggs laid. You may not see them, but they could be there. Besides it is always a good idea to clean out your drains. Sometimes you wonder where the stench is coming from, it could just be from a dirty drain with rotting food. Another thing, having a kitchen fan will also help keep the flies away. Also, clean your kitchen, counter tops, and pots and pans religiously. Having a clean kitchen is ideal, and will not attract fruit flies.
