This is also known as an electrical discharge insect control system. It lures the insects towards it with a super bright light and zaps them dead as soon as the insects come into contact with it. Electronic zappers normally emit a milky white light which attracts the fruit flies and other flying insects. There is an electric grid near the light source which electrocutes and kills the pesky pests. The dead flies are collected in a tray which makes it easy for disposal. The device has a protective guard which prevents people and pets from accidentally touching the electric grid. Most however, are designed for indoor use. They may cost more, but they give you more options for getting rid of fruit flies.
