This trap will also kill the flies. The vinegar will attract the flies.But don’t use white vinegar. It has to be a cider variety, like balsamic, or red wine vinegar aside from apple cider vinegar. Adding a few drops of dish soap will cut the surface tension of the vinegar, and the flies will sink and drown. This is a lot cheaper than buying branded fruit fly traps and sprays. Always remember that fruit flies don’t like clean surfaces. If you spill some juice or any other sugary substances on the counter top, wipe clean immediately. Don’t wait and hesitate to clean it up. You will be surprised how fast it can attract flies.
