This hunting dog originated from France. Their top coat is rough, even at times harsh. These hounds can get shaggy, but thankfully don’t shed. It is not a petite dog, it can weigh up to about 44 pounds. The name gives it away that it comes from France. Stubborn, because they are very independent, which makes it harder to train them. They are powerful dogs, strong and sturdy. Despite being short, they are heavy because they are dense. They reach an average lifespan of 12-14 years.
