Originating from France and Germany, the toy poodle is the small version of the poodle, and has a lifespan of 12-15 years. They do not shed, although they do need regular clipping. The most common cut is called a puppy clip, which is an easy-care grooming method that clips the hair short all over the body. But some owners do tend to get a bit fancy with pom poms on the tails and hips. You see these quite often in dog shows. Poodles are highly intelligent, and that is why you see them as the preferred breed for shows. They also are quite comical, and a joy to be with. Their mission in life is to please their owners, and make for adorable and loyal companions. A great indoor companion that will keep you entertained.
