Irish Water Spaniel

Not quite as large as the other large dogs, these Irish dogs were bred for hunting. They normally weigh a bit over 50 pounds, and are about 60 cm high. They have a long coat and need to bathe often. To avoid matting, they need to be brushed and combed regularly. But it is a hypoallergenic coat, so fine with those with allergies. They do require lots of exercise, typical of sporting dogs. They are brave and protective, but can be adorable, loving companions. Good for families with kids.
