Taller than the Tibetan terrier, the Irish terrier is an excellent watchdog. Its coat is hard and wiry, and hardly needs clipping. They are intelligent and easily trained. Plus they are great with children, and are good indoor companions. Originally bred for hunting, this dog has the instinct to flush out game and retrieve them. They do need their exercise though, so if you don’t have a yard, a couple of daily strolls around the block would suffice. Loyal and fearless, they will protect your family. Yet, they are friendly and adorable dogs.
