Originally for farming and herding in Germany, these dogs don’t shed, but require weekly brushing. They are the largest of the three Schnauzer breeds, and are quite dominant. Experts believe that they are not suited for families with small kids. But with the proper training, you should not worry. They are smart and not clumsy, and are very playful. They do need daily exercise, at least 2 walks a day. They can weigh up to 120 pounds and live up to 12 years. They may not be easy to handle, but are adorable just the same. First time owners should probably choose another dog, these giant schnauzers may be too difficult to handle for novices. It’s all up to you though.
