This small dog hails from China, where it is a popular breed. They are a high-maintenance breed that requires constant grooming daily with a quality bristle brush. But they don’t shed, and most owners will let their hair grow long. There are various ways of grooming them, usually a top-knot is done to keep their hair out of their eyes. They are known as “lion dogs” because of their dazzling manes. They are active and alert dogs, so some may be quite noisy. But they love to play and interact with humans.
