While Indiana is known for its friendly residents and the low cost of living, aside from great education, there are some reasons why it ranked number 26 on the list of worst retirement states. If you’re not a student and not a visitor, you’ll soon realize that Indiana is actually quite boring, and worse, liquor sales are actually banned on Sundays. Although retirees may enjoy the fact that Indiana is quite slow, the public transportation systems are not good, meaning you’ll need to have a car to drive yourself around, with most choosing bigger, studier cars that older folks don’t always like to drive due to the vehicle’s size. Indiana also has one of the harshest winters of any other state across the country.
