Pennsylvania is one of the prettiest states, and it enjoys a four-season climate at that, although each season grows to its fullest potential with harsh winters and hot summers. But, it is also one of the more expensive states to live in as well. While the health care is excellent, as is the public transportation, it also has a major international airport, making it a high volume travel destination which makes everything tend to cost more. This translates to retirees having to stretch out their retirement funds more. According to one Reddit user, “Pittsburgh taxes are expensive. And taxes in Pennsylvania as a whole are pretty sucky. It seems like the farther you move out from the city, the taxes decrease, but the cost of real estate goes up.”
