From what most people know about Alaska, it shouldn’t really come as a shock that this state has ranked number three on the list. Considering just how cold it is, for way longer periods of time than in any other state, that’s reason enough for seniors to not want to live here for the rest of their lives. And even if there’s no state income tax or sales tax for that matter, the cost of items tends to be much higher too, since almost everything needs to be brought in from the mainland. Not only will you spend the rest of your days in long johns, you’ll probably only see the sun out minimally as well.
