Tennessee is considered one of the cheapest states to live in, yet when it comes to quality of life, it ranks incredibly low. Unfortunately, the healthcare system and increasing poverty rates adds to its status, as well as the high crime rate. The state also doesn’t have much diversity when it comes to cultural activities either, plus the air pollution is horrible too. While Nashville is known as the place to be when it comes to music, it’s not exactly the cheapest place to retire in either, with homes costing an average of $209,400 in Knoxville.
