While the phone kept ringing, Deanna was in panic mode. She wondered why she even tried to call McKenna prior to boarding the plane, now McKenna was returning her call like a dutiful daughter. Knowing that they shared an incredible bond, Deanna felt that if she answered the call, her daughter would know that something was amiss. It would surely ruin the surprise. So, her instincts told her to not answer the call. It would be the better option. Then she continued on her journey, telling the driver where she was headed. They were off to the campus.
