It goes without saying that Deanna helped her daughter pack. She even accompanied her to Utah to settle into her college dorm, to make sure she was alright before heading home. That was to be expected, as they have never been apart before. But Deanna knew that she would soon see her daughter again. She counted on the holiday break, and the summer break. Truth of the matter is, McKenna already booked her flight home both for the holiday and summer breaks. We assume with her mother’s prodding for sure. Being the fun mom, Deanna devised a plan to surprise her daughter before the summer. It was an admirable idea, but she didn’t know then that it would turn out terribly wrong, and have regrettable consequences for all involved.
