The brilliant idea this time was to take a selfie of herself lying on McKenna’s bed. She was sure this would be a great surprise for her daughter. Maybe even better than her original plan. She didn’t realize it then, but it was the best idea she had so far. So she took the selfie, beaming with excitement and confidence. She was surely going to surprise McKenna! She sent it to her daughter, imagining McKenna’s surprised reaction. However, when McKenna replied, it was far from the way Deanna imagined, or hoped for. Suddenly it dawned on her what a dreadful mistake she made coming unannounced to surprise her daughter.
