Tourists will often be marked by scammers but don’t fall for them, particularly those who will stop you on the street and make a bet with you concerning your shoes and say that they can guess where you got them.  Their answer will either be, “You got one on your left and one on your right,” or “You got them on Bourbon Street in New Orleans,” then wait for you to pay up.  Don’t worry about appearing to be unfriendly and just walk past them.  If you do entertain them, expect to be hounded for payment everywhere you go, and it won’t be the least bit funny.
