Don’t Wear Hats At The Theater

Don’t wear a hat during a theater performance in New Orleans as according to the New Orleans Code Section 14-16, any one attending any public show are not allowed to leave their hats on their head while the curtain is raised, along with the usual no smoking, or committing disorderly acts or indecency.  Also, as an etiquette, removing hats are a gesture of respect, and generally, other places where you need to take them off include other people’s home, at the dinner table, in restaurants or coffee shops, movies, or in a house of worship, unless covering one’s head is required.
