Don’t Expect To See Parades In The French Quarter

Source: http://frenchquarterfest.org

Don’t think you can catch all of the parades in the French Quarter as the parades with major floats don’t pass through here.  Normally, the parades go through St. Charles Avenue as there is a size restriction on the floats in the Quarter. Hence, the only krewes you will see here are the walking kind, along with some small floats as well as brass bands.  All the action from the famous parades such as the Krewe of Endymion, which is considered as the super krewe and which you have probably heard or seen on TV is happening elsewhere at the Mid-City. There will still be krewes parading in the French Quarter, but some of these, such as the Krewe of Bosom Buddies & Breast Friends and Krewe du Vieux, are not suitable to children.
