Don’t Travel At Night

Guatemala is safe for tourists, but the night can be dangerous. With such a high crime rate, even locals don’t travel at night. Unaware tourists are a prime target for criminals. Police mention that most crimes are committed between 10pm till 3am. If you are enjoying the nightlife, make sure you stay where there are a lot of people. Preferably if you see uniformed police officers around. They are there to protect the tourists. And don’t venture into dark alleys or areas where no one is around. Stay safe and enjoy Guatemala.
