For a country with so many rules, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that drugs are considered illegal here. Smoking pot is considered offensive, despite the fact that other countries are already making it legal. Most tourists are aware of the tough stance the country takes on illegal substances. Offenders, be it local or tourists, are not exempted from capital punishment. So, they choose to indulge before setting foot on the plane, but little did they know that there are random checks in the airport arrivals area as well. This sounds outrageous but Singapore prides itself in having the lowest rates of drug abuse worldwide. Don’t expect them to go easy on the rule any time soon.
