Busking is permitted in Singapore, but these people have special permits to do it. Artists and wannabe singers have to first showcase their talents and skills before the National Arts Council in order to get a permit. They are then allowed to entertain passersby with songs. However, you can’t just do it randomly even if you have the talent and the instrument to do busk. You have to prove to the powers that be that you have an actual talent. If you disobey, you will have to pay $1000.
