East Sixth Street, also known as Dirty Sixth, is a very busy entertainment section in downtown Austin. There are many restaurants, food trucks, and pubs, and there’s plenty of drinking and music blasting out into the iconic street. If you’re easily scandalized, you might want to avoid the seedy dive bars or the street altogether. It can get really noisy and rowdy especially on a Saturday night, with lots of college kids getting loud and overly drunk. You can also see clusters of homeless people and drug addicts in several spots along the street which has become dirty and smelly over the years—making its name rather appropriate.

If you do find yourself in one of the bars, stop yourself from getting more than two glasses of Purple Rita.
