Let’s start with the more obvious ones. Lions are definitely cute when they are cubs, but everyone knows that they are fierce predators. Particularly the big males. They are not known as the king of the jungle for nothing. However, that is a misconception, there are no jungles in Africa, and there are no lions in jungles. But it stresses the point that the lion is the top predator wherever they are. Using lions in circus shows can be very dangerous, as some animal trainers learned the hard way. So don’t think you can find an exceptionally calm and tame lion, if instinct kicks in, you are a goner. They are meant to be adored and admired from a distance.
