While this is no cute animal, it is in this list simply because people are curious, and at times not careful. It is a giant reptile that resembles a scaly dragon. You may never encounter one in the wild as they are native to some islands in Indonesia, particularly Komodo Island. But some zoos may have this giant lizard species as an attraction. They have shark-like teeth which can cut flesh really easily, but it is their toxic saliva that will kill anything it has bitten within a few hours. It is the bacteria in their saliva that is dangerous. They appear slow and awkward, but they can sprint if needed. Definitely not an animal to keep as a pet.
