Neil Patrick Harris has been on TV since he was just a young teen playing kid genius Doogie Howser on the show ‘Doogie Howser, M.D’ up until it ended in 1993. Although Harris never stopped working once the show that brought him fame ended, it would take some time before he found the same kind of popularity that he had when he was younger.

When Harris landed the role of Barney Stinson, the majorly narcistic womanizer in ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ people thought it was quite ironic considering that there were rumors that Harris was gay. He made a statement in 2016 saying, “I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love.” These days, Harris’s career has continued to bloom, and he’s also married to husband David Burtka and the couple share two kids.
