They say dog saliva is clean, and in many ways, this is true. But it doesn’t mean that they can’t pass on diseases and other bacteria to their humans when they lick them. Dogs can’t help it though, cos when they lick you, it’s because this is basically their way of trying to assert their dominance over you. But it can also mean that they want your attention as well, since they have learned that licking you means that you will give them exactly that. Just hope that they don’t lick you right after they’ve been busy eating their own poop. If that’s the case, saliva won’t be the only thing they’ll transfer on to you!
