The magnificent silver fox is a red fox with melanism, leaving some of its kind almost completely black except for a white coloration on their tail while others are bluish-grey. Assuming it was bred and raised in a specialized center and not in the wild, you can get a permit to own a silver fox for $650 to $850. However, even though silver foxes have been domesticated for a few generations, they are still elusive outdoor animals. If you get a silver fox as a pet, it must have a crate outdoors, but it should not be confined inside the cage over long periods. You can’t keep a silver fox inside your house because it will not only destroy your furniture, it’s a predatory carnivore that will hunt and kill other pets you own.
