The palm cockatoo, also called the great black cockatoo or goliath cockatoo, is a strikingly beautiful, black or smoky-grey parrot with a large crest, bright red patches on its cheeks, and a huge black beak. It’s the largest cockatoo, growing up to 60 centimeters and weighing up to one kilogram. This intelligent bird can live up to 90 years in captivity, so check if you can set it up for proper care in the many decades to come. It needs a lot of attention and should not be left alone.
