She Would Have Hellish Nightmares

During other times in her sessions, Beth would explain to her therapist that she would have dreams, but in fact her dreams were actually nightmares. She would share that she dreamt of a man falling on her and then hurting her with “a part of himself.” It was clear from Beth’s stories and drawings that she had truly been put through major physical and emotional abuse by her father, things that no one – especially an infant or toddler – should ever have to go through, especially by someone that’s supposed to love and care for them.
