The ones that we do remember did not help Jessica Alba build her credibility in the movie industry. Alba rose to prominence in 2000 when veteran director James Cameron chose her to play the genetically enhanced super-soldier in the sci-fi drama TV series Dark Angel. Over a thousand other actors auditioned, but Alba bagged the coveted part of Max Guevara. Her shot to big screen stardom came with her breakthrough role in Honey, followed by the box office hits Fantastic Four and its sequel, Sin City and its sequel, Machete and its sequel, several romantic comedies we don’t remember, and a few horror films we don’t want to remember. Then, there’s that list of box office bombs that Alba would rather not be associated with. Even her performance in the well-received neo-noir crime film Sin City’s not-so-well-received sequel did not gain Alba the attention and recognition she sought.
