11. Mechanic: Resurrection, 2016

Following the trend of clichéd and corny, the sequel to 2011’s The Mechanic did nothing to help resurrect Jessica Alba’s career. Even Jason Statham’s killer charisma couldn’t save her—which is funny when the entire movie revolves around Statham’s character rescuing hers. Mechanic: Resurrection received generally unfavorable reviews, with viewers calling it a flat and dull B-grade Mission Impossible. And once again, we find Alba reduced to a damsel in distress that winds up as just an excuse to put her in a bikini. Critics were once again severe, noting that Alba accepts any role she’s given, even if her character is simply a plot device used as a distraction, a bait, or an absurd love interest. It’s a role that could’ve been easily portrayed to the same effect by anyone making her film debut or a model, pop star, or reality show contestant dipping her toes into acting, but not an industry vet like Alba who’s supposedly capable of so much more.
