The fashionable British businesswoman, Carol Kane, is the co-founder, executive director, and former CEO of Boohoo.com, a UK-based fashion retailer with its own brand of clothing designed for teenagers and young professionals. Kane who comes from a working-class background and whose father was a builder started her career as a designer before she founded Boohoo.com with Mahmud Kamani in 2006. The online fashion retailer that also runs boohooMAN.com, PrettyLittleThing.com, and NastyGal.com has 9,000 clothing lines, sells to over a hundred countries, and has seven major markets, including the UK, the US, and France. Primarily using social media in their marketing strategy, Boohoo.com has 6.3 million followers on Instagram and over 3 million likes on Facebook as of January 2020. Even though Kane has stepped back from her role as CEO in 2019, she remains ambitious and motivated for the company that has continued to experience a strong performance under her guidance, doubling revenues every year.
