When you meet a Swiss for the first time, it is considered rude to stand too close during a conversation.  It is best to mind your space.  Try to stand at least an arm’s length from conversation partners. Moreover, in order to make a good first impression, you should try to maintain a good posture. Try to keep an acceptable distance between conversations and try not to violate the space.  Good manner is paramount when in Switzerland and your personality with shine through if you practice a little dose of tourist tact and proper behavior when interacting with the locals.  Try to blend in and be mindful of your good behavior.
