When travelling to Switzerland, it is best to go with a travel buddy or a set of best friends.  Conversely, if your goal is to make a bunch of Swiss friends while travelling in the country then you will most likely have to work harder than usual.  The Swiss are very reserved people and veers away on making small talk with people.  Making friends in any new country is difficult enough. In Switzerland, where people are generally pretty reserved and extremely respectful of other people’s privacy and time, it can be ever harder.  There is no room for being too spontaneous in this country.  One must take their time when making friends in Switzerland and it usually begins with learning their language.
