As a tourist, a travel experience becomes more meaningful when you engage with the local culture.  Thus, communicating with locals in an engaging manner will make you appreciate the destination even better.  However, please remember that Swiss people place a high priority on their privacy and value it greatly.  Try to practice discretion and avoid questions about someone’s private income or wealth.  Doing so is considered very rude in Switzerland. Practicing this prerogative is extremely valuable and discretion means adjusting to different degrees of social interaction.  Remember, the Swiss are very conservative, proper and respectful.
