Several tourists who visit Australia love to surf the waves along the fantastic beaches. Champion surfers from the US and Europe often visit, and are amazing. If you are a novice surfer, remember there are rules of etiquette you should follow. First and foremost, don’t drop in on another person’s wave. It is not only disrespectful it may be dangerous if you do collide. Also don’t be a wave hog, let others have their turn. The person closest to the peak of the break has the right to ride it. Always paddle outside of the zone where a lineup of surfers may be coming at you. Make sure your board is secured by a leg rope, a rogue board can be dangerous. It is best to know the rules before surfing. You don’t want to be the cause of any problems.
