Australians love their drinks, particularly beer. But don’t even think of driving after having drinks, no matter how few they seem. Australia has a blood alcohol limit of .05%, and are very strict about it. Police set-up random alcohol and drug testing which they call “booze buses.” Drivers will be asked to stop, whether they have been drinking or not. You will be asked for your license, asked to blow into a breathalyzer, or perform some tests. Don’t think they have to have probable cause, the cops have the right to “routinely” check on people driving. It is part of the campaign against alcohol and substance abuse. So drink and be merry, just don’t drive when you do.
