This is routine, it is never personal. Israel authorities are very strict about safety procedures. Give their history of war and conflict, it is not at all surprising, really. When you arrive, simple questions like why you are visiting, where you will be staying, if you know any locals, etc.  Just answer the questions truthfully and do not worry…99% of the time it’s a breeze. Sometimes though, for whatever reason, they may opt to search you and your belongings, for as long as you have no illegal stuff, it will be fine. Just remember the rules, and what to never do in Israel. You will surely enjoy your visit.
