Never Discuss Politics

Given Israel’s chaotic past, and seemingly unending battles, do not bring up anything about politics, war, and other matters which locals may take offense about. Besides, there are many dissenting opinions on such topics, and you will not know for sure what the person you are discussing with believes into or even who they are exactly. For all you know, they may be in the Mossad (the CIA counterpart). Really, it is always rude to discuss politics of a place if you are just a visitor. Courtesy dictates that certain things are not open for discussion since it may offend the locals. Just as you would not want any foreigners to criticize your government, or political beliefs. Remember what Israel has been through, and is still going through. Don’t add wood to the fire.
