Every cruise ship will offer shore excursions, you will notice may leaflets and brochures all over, particularly at the front desk. It offers guests the promise of adventure and exploration within the span of a few hours. While it is part of the cruise experience, do not rely solely on it. First of all, it is limited to a certain number of people, and unless you book in advance, chances are you may not be included. Secondly, the tour is also limited to a few areas, mostly the costly ones. The Carribean has so much to offer if you decide to go on your own to explore the beautiful beaches and landscapes. Just make sure you make plans with the cab driver to take you back to the port on time to board the ship. The main advantage of the shore excursions is that the ship will not leave the port unless all in the tour are on board. Not the same policy if you venture out on your own, so remember this.
